We're a software, AI, and robotics shop for manufacturers and industrial companies. We embed with your team to build lasting AI and automation that actually works.

01Cost of inaction

What a year of inaction costs you

  • Force 01$140,000 to $211,000

    Knowledge that walks out

Retirement and regretted quits. The replacement takes months to ramp, and some of what they knew never comes back.

SHRM: replacing someone costs six to nine months of salary. Deloitte, 2024: retirements drive about 2.2% of manufacturing openings a year.

  • Force 02$130,000 to $384,000

Time spent hunting for the right document

Nobody can tell which SOP is current, so people guess.

Gartner, 2023: 47% of digital workers struggle to find the information they need.

  • Force 03$122,000 to $405,000

    Unplanned downtime

The line sits idle while someone hunts for the person who knows the fault.

ABB, 2023: 69% of plants have an unplanned outage at least monthly. Siemens: 81 minutes to restart.

  • Force 04$400,000

    The scrap and rework gap

The same mistakes keep happening because nobody can query the pattern.

APQC: top-performing manufacturers run 0.6% of sales on scrap and rework.

A year of not fixing it

$792,000 to $1.4M

A year of us

$120,000

02What we build

AI-driven solutions for companies that keep the world running

We structure your data and the workflows you already run into a system your own people can build apps on, hand work to, and approve before it acts.

Every one is scoped to your operation and built on your own data.

  • 01Purchasing, Quoting, and PO AutomationCustom quote tools for how you price, and purchase orders read, matched, and routed instead of retyped.
  • 02Agentic SOP FollowerRepetitive tasks run against the current SOP, and they update when the SOP does. Quality guardrails so you get the reliability you need.
  • 03WIP and Production MonitoringWork in process by station and by order, built on your ERP and machine data.
  • 04Custom MES BuildoutAn MES scoped to your operation, and you own the code and the data. Built one end to end before.
  • 05Maintenance and SOP AssistantA tech describes a fault and gets cited steps from manuals and past work orders.
  • 06Quality and CAPA AssistA drafted CAPA or NCR with citations, for your quality engineer to approve.
  • 07Knowledge AssistantPlain-language questions, answered with a citation to the controlling document.
  • 08Machine Learning PipelinesComputer vision for inspection and detection, trained on your own images. The work on both current engagements.

03How it works

What the first ninety days look like

  • Step 1: scope and accessWeek 1

We pick a quick win and prove it while onboarding

    • We sign an NDA and a short services agreement, with a named point of contact from your team.
    • We work with you to identify the access required and start obtaining it.
    • Proof of concept starts immediately, in parallel with that onboarding.
  • Step 2: early productionWeeks 2 to 4

    Early productionized results

    • First results running on live systems, not sample data.
    • We agree what working looks like. If it will not hold, we tell you in month one.
    • We communicate frequently to identify and resolve blockers.
  • Step 3: adoptionMonths 2 to 3

Your team using it in daily work by day 90

    • We help your team switch to the new process, and we fix what still breaks.
    • We quantify the wins and help you share them internally.
    • We help you set the policies and systems that spread high-value AI adoption and raise the return on AI spend you already have.
  • Step 4: transformationOngoing

Full transformation of your organization into an AI leader

    • High-value AI spreads to more teams and more processes.
    • We keep building the policies and systems that raise adoption and the return on AI spend.
    • You own the systems we build, and your team can extend and tailor them.
    • Your team is not scared to use AI. People see the value, and how it helps them in their work.

No initial term

Thirty days' written notice, either direction, at any time including month one, and you keep everything we built. The most you can be out is one month.

No initial term and no penalty.

What we have built

05About us

Channing Pear at Proto-Town, a startup city in Texas
Channing at Proto-TownThrough Hard Tech X, our community, we support Proto-Town, Reindustrialize, Deep Tech Week, and the New American Industrial Alliance.

Our founder

Our founder

Channing Pear left his career in Silicon Valley to help rebuild American manufacturing, and started Anvil Labs in 2021. He built a nationwide community bridging hard tech startups and manufacturing, starting in South Florida, and began helping that community through his background in AI, software, and robotics.

Early customers included local drone and counter-drone system OEMs and CPG startups. The work has since grown to public companies. We travel across the country to support our customers. Headquarters is in Miami, with operations in NYC and Austin.

Our team

Who you are hiring

Anvil Labs is a US-based team of engineers out of Stripe, Google, Amazon, SpaceX, Uber, Palantir, Perplexity, and Harvey.

We've built systems for steel manufacturing plants, robotic pick-and-place production, and counter-drone defense manufacturing. We've built software-defined factory manufacturing execution systems from scratch. We've built launch systems and sent hardware to space.

The United States is bringing manufacturing home: new plants, shorter supply chains, production on American soil. That only holds if those operations can compete on the floor. Our mission is to reindustrialize America by putting AI and software into the companies that still make things.

If you run a plant, a line, or an industrial company, you are who we want to help.

Why Anvil

What makes us different

  • We know AI and we know manufacturing. Our job is to help reindustrialize America.

  • We build it for your operation. You own it. It is not software you subscribe to.

  • We've built and run production AI systems at top tech companies as well as startups, up to public manufacturing and industrial companies. We run a nationwide community of hard tech and industrial startups, so we stay current.

  • We work month to month by default, so the return on investment is easy to see and we have to keep earning your business. We want a long partnership. We will not lock you into a long contract to get one.

Program $20,000 / mo A larger system, or two projects at once. Room for a custom MES, production monitoring, or a first win plus the next one beside it.
Partnership $30,000 / mo A dedicated engineering partnership. Multiple systems, software and hardware integrations, and work that ships every week.

07Questions

Questions we get

  • Can we start with a smaller pilot?

You can stop any time, which is the protection a pilot would have bought you. It is month to month: no initial term, thirty days' notice either direction. You can move up or down to a higher or lower retainer as the work needs it. The floor is $10,000 a month. If the work is not landing, we change the scope until it is. We are here for a long relationship, so we work hard to make you happy.

  • What if it is not working at month two?

You will know early, because we write down in week one what working means, and we stay in close contact and adjust as we learn your operation. Tell us and we change the plan. If it is genuinely not working, you never signed a term: give thirty days' notice and you keep what we built.

  • What happens to what you built if we stop?

You keep everything we built. The systems, the code, and the documentation are yours, and they live in your environment where possible. We hand over access and return or delete our copies of your materials.

  • Who actually does the work?

Anvil engineers, all based in the United States, with our founder owning scope and quality on every account.

  • Do you need access to everything?

No. We start with the narrowest access that can carry the first build, and broaden permissions as you get comfortable with what the system does.

  • Why not go to a bigger firm?

Speed and quality. The AI industry moves fast, and to stay on the forefront you have to move fast as well. Quality comes from more iterations and a shorter cycle time, which we do by embedding directly with your team. Their process starts with a paid assessment months before anything runs on your documents. Here you get senior engineers building in week one, and you can stop any time.
